Blogs represent a large part of the activity on today’s internet. Millions of people blog daily. A blog is a website made up of entries. The blog may be a lot like a personal journal or diary or it may be dedicated to business or just for making money. By using a blog to funnel web traffic through links to another monetized website, such as an affiliate site, this kind of a blog can make some pretty good money.The person making the entries into the blog is called the blogger.
Blog entries are usually called posts. These posts appear in reverse chronological order with the most recent entry listed first. Blogging is similar to a diary or journal. The majority of blogs include links and comments which are placed to encourage user interactivity. Blogs are created with a special kind of software. Blogging is the act of writing blog entries or posts in a blog. Blogging is therapeutic and a great way to be heard. You can even get paid to blog. People blog to express their opinions and ideas, promote or market something, establish yourself as an expert, help other people, connect with people similar interests, to make a difference, to keep up with and remain knowledgeable in a certain field or topic, to stay connected to family and friends, and to make money through advertising from various forms of media.

There are, however, a few that charge you to blog or upgrade to use their additional features. Blog services are sites that allow users to post blogs and they host the site. When you select a free blog service platform be sure to read everything and make sure you pick one that suits your blogging needs. Xanga.com is a free blog service that offers a social networking feature with the blogging experience.
Multiply.com is a blog service that mixes social networking along with photo galleries and other neat features.
